Dashboard
The Dashboard provides a quick overview of key information in the platform. It contains multiple widgets, each displaying important data to help you monitor activity and system status at a glance.
Account Selection
If your organisation has access to multiple sites or accounts, you can switch between them using the Account Selection dropdown located at the top of the dashboard.
Selecting a different account updates the dashboard to display information and widgets relevant to that specific site or account.

Tip: Make sure the correct account is selected before reviewing dashboard data or navigating to other sections.
Dashboard Widgets
The dashboard is made up of multiple widgets, each designed to show a specific type of information.
Widgets help you quickly understand the current state of your environment without navigating to multiple sections.
Widget: System Protected
The System Protected widget shows the number of SKUs currently billed across your environment. This includes protected Microsoft 365 users and server workloads.
It provides a quick overview of how many systems or users are currently protected and contributing to licensing usage.

License Types
The widget categorises protected systems based on the type of license applied.
Office 365 Users
Microsoft 365 user workloads
Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams
Physical Servers
Non-virtualised servers
Bare metal Windows/Linux servers
VMs
Virtual machines via hypervisor backup
VMware / Hyper-V VM image backup
Servers
Server-level backup with agents
Operating system and applications on servers
File System Only VM
File-level backup inside a virtual machine
Agent-based backup of folders within a VM
File System Only Server
File-level backup on a physical server
Backup of files and folders only
Commvault License Types
Office 365 Users
This license protects Microsoft 365 user data, including workloads such as:
Exchange Online mailboxes
OneDrive accounts
SharePoint data
Microsoft Teams content
Licensing is typically counted per protected user account.
Physical Servers
Used to protect non-virtualised servers running directly on physical hardware.
Examples include:
Windows servers installed on bare metal
Linux servers running directly on hardware
Application or database servers not running as VMs
Each protected server counts as one physical server instance.
VMs
This license covers virtual machines protected through hypervisor-based backup.
Common platforms include:
VMware
Hyper-V
Other supported hypervisors
The backup usually captures the entire VM image, including disks and configuration.
Servers
This license applies to server-level protection using Commvault agents.
It typically includes:
Operating system backups
Application backups
File system protection
Database protection
File System Only VM
Used when only file-level backup is performed inside a virtual machine.
Instead of backing up the entire VM image:
A file system agent is installed inside the VM.
Only selected files or folders are backed up.
File System Only Server
Similar to File System Only VM, but applied to physical servers.
In this case:
Only the file system is protected.
Applications or full system images are not backed up.
Widget: Backups
The Backups widget provides a quick overview of the current backup status across your environment. It summarises the state of backup activities based on the most recent job status of each sub client.
This helps you quickly identify successful backups, running jobs, issues, or disabled backup configurations.

Backup Status Indicators
The widget displays the following backup states:
Successful
The number of subclients whose most recent backup completed successfully.
Running
The number of subclients that currently have an active backup job in progress.
Errors & Overdues
The number of subclients with failed backups or overdue backups where the scheduled backup has not run within the expected timeframe.
Disabled
The number of subclients where backups are currently disabled.
